Mike Cashman is an experienced business counselor who represents national and international clients in litigation and corporate transactions. Representations typically involve drafting corporate documents, business litigation, and domestic and international arbitrations.
Mr. Cashman is a seasoned federal court practitioner with appellate experience who clerked for the Honorable Terry L. Wooten, Chief Judge of the Federal District Court for the district of South Carolina and the Honorable R. Bryan Harwell, Federal District Court Judge for the district of South Carolina Florence Division. He is a go-to writer and strategist for complex federal court briefing for both trials and appeals.
Clients involved in complex litigation appreciate Mr. Cashman's organizational and management skills. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Cashman graduated from the United States Military Academy and served as an infantry officer and Airborne Ranger in the United States Army in increasing positions of responsibility, both stateside and abroad, culminating as Aide to the Commanding General of the Army's largest training center. He also taught Military Science and Leadership as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina, commanded a combined forces, pathfinder unit in the Republic of Korea and lead a 36-soldier, light infantry, rapid-deployment platoon. He is a three-time nominee for the Douglas McArthur Leadership Award, recipient of two Meritorious Service Medals and an inductee in the Order of Saint Maurice.
Bringing the same skills and intensity to his legal career, Mr. Cashman has quickly become a rising star in the legal community. He has been recognized as such for three consecutive years by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star in Business Litigation, and is a 2015 recipient of South Carolina Lawyers Weekly's Leadership in Law Award.
In addition to his law degree, Mr. Cashman holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School Of Business and a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.
